[Olpc-open] Why Pyhton question

Hi all,

I've been subscribed to the list for almost 1 month, and found a lot of
fascinating information, true knowledge and wisdom on building the OLPC.

But there's something I couldn't find information for, and is about the
decision of choosing Python among many other languages. If anyone can
point me to any URL or give me a brief explanation I'll really
appreciate it.
