Sure there is. The one-to-one program in Maine has widely been touted as a
success. Repeated trials in the field these last months have been a success.
The consumer computer experiments, that Negroponte, Papert and others have
conducted over the years and decades (and frequently cited in OLPC-related
presentations).
One-to-one laptop deployments are quite effective at making smarter
students, especially if the program is done right.
