[Olpc-open] seeking user-level help with OLPC activities

I've got an OLPC to try out for a short while and am find it incredibly
frustrating and non-intuitive to do some basic things. I'm looking for a
FAQ or Wiki or mailing list where some of these basic issues **must** be
discussed, but I'm striking out.

For example, I posted a question similar to below on the Wiki FAQ
questions and got a response but still could not figure it out. And I've
skimmed through the archives of this and the SUGAR mailing lists and
don't see anything that bears on this.

Let me come at this another way. What I'm ideally looking for is the kind
of material in the 542_Demo Notes Wiki Page
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/542_Demo_Notes

but which continues on from where that leaves off.

For example, I'm in the Write activity. I create some text and want to
save it with a name so I can call it up later. How do I do that? I
finally tried replacing the text in the left oval with a name and said
Keep, thinking maybe it saved it. But then I can't find a way to call it
back the next time I use Write. Similar issue with taking a picture. If
I take a picture, how do I save it by name so I can find it again.

I have successfully sent e-mail to my Gmail account with the OLPC and now
I'd like to try sending a Write file or a picture as an attachment. But
it seems I need to be able to browse to the file to do so. Or it expected
that I would copy and paste any such material into the body of the e-mail?

What puzzles me is not that I'm bumping into questions of this type, but
that I can't find any significant discussion of this type of thing online.
