<html><head></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div>Hi OLPC team,</div><div><br></div><div>I wanted to get in touch with you about a project I'm involved in. You might have come across Retake the Net (<a href="http://retakethe.net/2011/06/19/open-communities/">http://retakethe.net</a>), an initiative I've started with a few other people to create positive projects and actions related to reclaiming the net from the ever-increasing corporate and government control. We've just started talking about it more publicly; our first public meetup is on Wednesday here in Wellington, and we plan a barcamp for late October. </div><div><br></div><div>The reason why I wanted to talk to you is a project that's somewhat inspired by OLPC. It's currently named Open Communities and an overview is here: <a href="http://retakethe.net/2011/06/19/open-communities/">http://retakethe.net/2011/06/19/open-communities/</a> You all have done a lot of very good things with OLPC here in New Zealand and I wanted to see if there's any overlap, or any areas where it might make sense to work together, or simply hear if you have any other thoughts.</div><div><br></div><div>Are you still meeting on Saturdays at the Cross? If so, it's probably easiest for me to stop by at some point. Or are any of you going to Nethui next week?</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, thanks again for the awesome work you're doing. Looking forward to hearing from you you.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers</div><div>Sibylle</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></body></html>
