Testing Summary: 22 October 2011 - Auckland, New Zealand

Great to see Leslie and baby Elliot today!
Who: Fabiana, John, Oliver, Tabitha, Tom
We had IRC and Skype running during testing - just letting the world know as
this is a great way to contact us during testing and ask for tests or talk
about documentation (or even just chat about how good the All Blacks are).

XO-1.75s running 882 which is 11.3.0 which is Sugar 0.94

Changed date and time to Auckland successfully.

Write - when collaborating between two XO-1.75s the colour for both XOs
writing is the same. Tried changing the colours by highlighting text and
using colour pallete but this only works on one XO not the other (changed
colour on Bonnie, no change on Bonnie or Clyde, changed colour on Clyde and
it changes on both). This attempt the activity was shared by Bonnie.
Tried changing colours without collaborating on Bonnie and the colour change
does work.
Started a new write activity with Clyde sharing with Bonnie. This time
Bonnie can change colours on both screens but Clyde cannot change colours on
own screen or on Bonnies.


Memorize - works with collaboration


Record - can take and save photo. Can view it.
Can take and save low and high videos of 5 seconds successfully. Can play it
(can't hear anything but can't turn up volume so who knows if there is
sound). Has a flicker of lighting change in the first second.
Can take low and high video of 10 seconds successfully. Can play it (can't
hear anything but can't turn up volume so who knows if there is sound). Has
a flicker of lighting change in the first second.
Can take low video of 20 seconds but then crashed activity during save.
Repeated test and found the second time it did try to save for a long time
but never got there (still has spinning cursor). Looked in TOP in terminal
and it was consuming 2% of CPU. We shut down the laptop.
Can take audio recording of 10 seconds and it saves a file but as we can't
hear anything and volume can't be adjusted it is hard to tell whether the
playback actually has any sound recorded and whether the microphone is
actually working.

Maze - worked first time. Closed and tried reopening, but failed to start.
Used "start new" and it opened, shared it, other XO-1.75 joined and then it
crashed on both machines before they could start play. Restarted both
machines. Shared and this time both could join but when started trying to
play it closed on the joining laptop after it synched. Tried again and it
crashed again. Could play on our own on both machines but not collaborating.


Implode - works

Measure - no microphone so test fails funnily enough!

Speak works, robot doesnt know anything, voice chat does collaborate (can
see both XOs writing and can hear the computer read out but not read out the
other persons writing just its own writing).

Finance - works. It would be good if you switch to the credit debit adding
screen that it also switches from chart or budget to the register view so
you can actually add the debits and credits.

Browse - works. Copy and paste from browse to write successful.

Wikipedia EN = works. Can copy text from wikipedia and paste into write
successfully.

Physics - works. Seems to have a big floor area that is using maybe 10% of
the screen? Could reduce floor area a bit.

Clock - works. The talking bit even talks (with strange computer voice but
can be understood).

Moon - works.

Stopwatch - works. When you use the mark and zero functions, it puts the
marks in the order of time not instance. Would be good if you can make the
marks appear in the order you save them.

Paint - works. Tested lots of the tools.

Ruler - works.

Fototoon - works.

Portfolio - works (with two images starred in Journal).

Closed activities are not disappearing from the neighbourhood view.

photo - works, saves, viewable
video - low and high recording works, saves and replays with sound and
picture

Maze works (did not test collaboration).

Not much tested on XO-1.5 today.

XO-1.0 testing 882 which is 11.3.0 which is Sugar 0.94

Write - can change colours of the text when not collaborating and when
collaborating on two XO-1.0s.

Implode works.

Turtleart - making a big spiral. still need to have better block script
display somehow as scrolling makes the blocks disappear from the screen.

Paint works.

Record - all seems to be working (much better than last build).

Browse - works. Crashed with signal 11 once.

Manually updated the firmware on the XO-1.0s as per the release notes.
