There are problems with suspend and resume. Wifi, sound, the keyboard
and the camera all tend to fail after a suspend-resume cycle. The power
management option in the settings will cause the laptop to suspend after
20 seconds of inactivity (even when plugged in). Turn power management
off and these problems should go away.

http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/11510 says the wifi problem will be fixed
in os19.

We test for the known problems with power management turn on and then
turn it off to test everything else.

The bootup sound is performed by the firmware without the help of linux.
