Hi NZ Volunteers

For those preparing for this Saturday, if you don't have a test plan
already, here are 4 ideas:

1. Try Sugar on a Stick version 3 (Mirabelle) on any computer you can;
remember to report what works and what doesn't, and include the hardware
details. If you can connect to the internet, then try collaboration via
jabber.sugarlabs.org with one of the other volunteers around the world

2. Review James Simmons book and give him feedback (nicestep at gmail.com): A
current PDF is here:
http://objavi.flossmanuals.net/books/ReadingandSugar-en-2010.06.07-20.52.58.pdf
The website for the book is:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/ReadingandSugar/Introduction

3. Try testing one of the XO builds (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OS_images)
Stephen Parrish's F11-on-XO1 build based on Sugar 0.84 (Feb 2009):
http://people.sugarlabs.org/~smparrish/<http://people.sugarlabs.org/%7Esmparrish/>and
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/F11_for_XO-1
If you have an XO-1.5 please test build 125
http://build.laptop.org/10.2.0/os125/

4. Write an email to our list sharing your favourite activity; why its your
favourite; and some examples of how you could use it in an educational
context

5. Test an activity you have never played -
http://activities.sugarlabs.org- or test Abacus for Walter -
http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Activities/Abacus

Of course, these are just suggestions, you can always test your own ideas
:-)

If you are new to the list, we meet on Saturdays at 11am:

   - Auckland - the Windsor, 144 Parnell Road
   - Wellington - The Cross, 35 Abel Smith St

See you at testing or virtually other locations - we are in
irc.freenode.netin #oplc-au and a bunch of other #olpc and #sugar
related channels :-)

Tabitha
