I don't know if people are aware, but OLPC has opened applications for Internships: http://laptop.org/en/interns. There are few different tracks, including programme support in OLPC deployments & remote advocacy. There's even a category for specialised Internships, where the OLPC will look at supporting projects on a case by case basis.
