Hi Kevin,

Thanks for this insight. Would you like to take note some of this in a wiki. I believe if we document this, it will be a great resource for some initial small deployments, who doesn't have yet the expertise or skills to do this.

Of course, if you can make George's wish come true of a nice clear video of the step by step XO reflashing that would be awesome.

BTW: I can just physically give to you a screw driver, I still need a lot of XO to fix before I can grant your wish.

Also, another thing to include on the steps is how to execute the command in the XO console 'like where and what they should type in' to know if the wifi is working or not.

Let me know your thoughts on this. If my time permits I'll start a wiki page that can be included as one of the project of OLPC_NYC. Takers are welcome. :)
Hi folks,
I was going over the events of our activities at WIN and I expect the work we
did at addressing the system error and OS upgrade to not be 100 % successful.
There are a few issues that I dont know if they were taken care of properly. We
did not set the system date on 10 units, so those will have to be redone at
some point. But I realize that we did not inspect the units after the procedure
to see if the system error did not reoccur. I also dont know if any of the
units had a dead coin cell battery or if any had the coin cell disloged as was
reported on some early XO-1 units. The procedure we did last time should
correct the issues with most machines but there is a certainty that some will
need to reexamined because of the system date or coin cell issue in the future.
So I thought I would mention that. Mafe may need to get out that screwdriver
that she used in Boston and join our efforts at opening XOs :)
