Hi
I see nothing has been posted to this list for a while, so I'm curious who
is still here :)
I work on libre fonts, mostly as a day job as a consultant on
www.google.com/fonts but also with a beginners workshop nonprofit
www.craftingtype.com and as a contributor to various libre font software
projects like www.fontforge.org , www.metapolator.com and
https://github.com/trufont
I ran into Walter Bender at the FSF Libre Planet conference last weekend,
and he suggested running a Google Summer of Code project to start a Sugar
font editor activity. Here is my call for proposals.
https://github.com/davelab6/gsoc/blob/master/2016-sugar-call-for-proposals.md
The deadline for proposals is tomorrow, and I have received a few proposals
already, but I thought that despite there being very little time, I would
ask if anyone here knows any college students with experience of Python and
an interest in fonts.
I would also be very happy to organize an informal Sugar meet up at the
Google office in Chelsea if anyone would be interested in that :)

Cheers
Dave
