*Introduction & Need for this project. *
In Indian government schools the computer education level is very low and in
its infancy. Hence before making a full fledged initiative to bring OLPC
concept to implementation it is essential to first bring the OLPC computer
centers in schools for gaining acceptance and to make the students familiar
about its operation and functions.
With this purpose the idea of OLPC computer centers is proposed. This will
be a very cost effective alternative for the government schools also.
10 to 40 pieces per school will suite the purpose.
Hence this will familiarize the students how to use this device for children
and then gradually promote it for students in a big scale on per student
basic.
The Delhi Government has a sanctioned budget of 500 crore rupees by the
central government for computer education. In Delhi.
This alternative and subsequent maintenance of OLPC computers by OLPC and
Govt of India under a joint venture will be a big cost saving initiative for
government and schools. Many other Central Government Institutes can be
moved in to partner.
We are also looking forward to develop low cost PC and lap tops with the
same OLPC products technologies. This will reduce the cost of computers if
manufactured in India. A joint venture manufacturing of OLPC products with
Govt of India funds and Christian funds with a Christian management is also
being considered by Churches in India . Church is interested in a church
brand of low cost computers and laptops. The church schools are ready to
give place and our Bishop in Delhi Vincent Concessao and YMCA – Delhi is
also ready to consider our request.
A company by name Taking IT Global is also showing Interest .

We request the OLPC to move this project with all relevant details from the
USA office directly since politics and sabotage is very high.
Shri Kapil Sibal is a very learned man and Harvard law school product and
will understand the advantage.
I would like to volunteer for this project and assist to further develop and
negotiate with the minister’s office if needed and designated.
However an official proposal from OLPC through the American Embassy would be
good.

Jose Kamal Moraes
Note: It is very vital that USA institutions participate with Government
institutions in India since the communal elements in India are using the
government institutions against the ruling congress party and against the
Christians also. USA based organizations are preferred here due to the good
management and technology.
