<div dir="ltr"><div>Don't worry about it. We ended up voting way earlier than I expected and the board chose Smile Train as the organization to support. However, there are also smaller donations given to the other charities and I'll try to make sure some goes to OLPC. Thanks for responding.</div>

The ILXO staffers are scattered through the country at school and work right now, and none of us are currently in the Chicago area - but maybe one of the other local volunteers on this list might be interested in stopping by and saying a few words? The IMSA chapter came out to Boston to help with a deployment in January, and they've definitely got some cool stories to share.<br>

Each year, the Social Service Club board at New Trier High School in Winnetka picks a charity to donate the money raised from its yearly Battle of the Bands (AKA "Band-Aid"). I, of course, recommended One Laptop Per Child. Before we vote, there is an opportunity for speakers from the charities we are considering to come and speak to the board about the charity, what it does, and answer questions. I was wondering if anyone at ILXO would like to visit New Trier and present One Laptop Per Child. It would have to be some time in the next two weeks. I can work out the details with the Co-Presidents of the board for the scheduling.<br>
