[OLPC.ch] olpc : introducing myself

Good morning OLPC Switzerland,

 

I'm a newcomer in the mailing list, and just wanted to briefly introduce
myself.

 

My name is Gabriele. I was born and grew up in Ticino about 40 years ago...
But this is history, as now I'm a happy family father living near Lausanne.

 

I spent ~15 years working in a US semiconductor company, developing
integrated circuits. Since the end of 2011, I started my own business. Well,
that's a big word, as I'm in a pre-startup phase. And this is in parallel to
the EMBA I'm following.

 

Concerning the OLPC, I'm searching to get involved mostly in the
marketing/promotion of the initiative, and to find ideas on how to raise
funds. Currently I have some ideas, and would like to know anyone with
competences in building Linux Live USB distributions (sorry Urs, I still
believe in that idea...). I had a great chance to meet Urs and Michele, who
introduced the organization.

 

My preferred communication channel is direct face-to-face; thought I
understand the use of e-mails, chat, or whatever else technology due to
distances.
