[OLPC Networking] Configuration Problems

Dear all,

Actually, I seem to be a novice on XO. I have experienced two problems.

First:

I've used iwconfig to test ad-hoc mode of XO. After changing managed
mode into ad-hoc mode, I did ping to check the connectivity of XO.
However, I saw continually the configuration was automatically back to
"managed mode."  That comes about with B2-1.

Second:

I tried testing mesh networks. In B2-1, I'd like to check the
connectivity of mesh networks and thus tried ping. However, I couldn't
do it because the addresses of two XO were different. The ping didn't
work even if I changed the addresses into same subnet address. I just
heard that I can't change any configuration of XO. In this case, could
you kindly let me know how to do ping in mesh networks? I mean how to
check the connectivity of XO. Is there any manual to let me know how to
set mesh configuration?
