An important advantage of IRC over GTalk (and other Jabber/XMPP clients)
is that IRC channels are public and discoverable by anybody.
Furthermore, communication is 1-to-N by default.

Therefore, IRC is the right tool if we want to attract a community
around us and also to improve communication within the team.

Last but not least, all OLPC developers and some management
people are already using IRC.
