The US Public Broadcasting System (PBS) news program NOW recently aired a
very interesting program (http://www.pbs.org/now/shows/414/index.html) on
the issue of families in western Nepal sending daughters into indentured
service and the efforts of the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation (
http://www.nyof.org) to end this practice through agricultural aid and
education.

Som Paneru (http://www.nyof.org/aboutNYOF/organization/staff.html#SomPaneru)
was interviewed during the segment.
OLPC Nepal and OLE Nepal must be very busy with the pilots being launched,
but it is always good to be aware of other local organizations with shared
interests in transforming children's lives through education.
