Hello Urso,

Thanks, Chris, for an excellent description of the issues and 
considerations for string freeze.  It's such an excellent answer that I 
felt it should be on the Sugar Labs wiki, and was almost done editing 
the TranslationTeam/FAQ page to include it, when I had a browser crash 
;-(  I don't have time to do that again, unfortunately.

One additional point I wanted to make was that not only suggestions are 
not included in commits, but any string that is marked "fuzzy" will not 
appear in the live translation (the string will be committed, but the 
back-end processes that convert the .PO file into the .mo format 
actually included in activities and language packs will skip (omit) any 
strings marked as fuzzy; which means that the English string will be 
used instead.  For this reason, before committing it is also important 
to go through and review fuzzy strings as well as suggestions.  Even if 
a translation may not be entirely correct or accurate, if it is mostly 
correct and/or more understandable than the English, it may be worth 
noting that in a translator comment (with a string you can search for 
later, like "wasfuzzy") and then clearing the fuzzy flag before 
committing.  After the release you can go back and re-mark as fuzzy any 
strings with "wasfuzzy" in the comments.
