Dear OLPC / Sugar localizers,

Just a heads up that a "string freeze" is approaching in the release
schedule for Sugar 0.86. This is an excellent time for localizers to check
their languages for any new strings and to make an effort to finish up any
fuzzy or untranslated strings. There have been some newly introduced
strings, so even if your PO files were complete not too long ago, there may
have been additions.

Language administrators should plan on spending a little time reviewing PO
files for completeness and accuracy before committing them. If your
language's PO files are not very complete, now is a great time to begin
recruiting in additional localization help.

Remember, a string freeze is a restriction on developers introducing new
user interface strings, it is the trigger for localization efforts to kick
into high gear as there will be few if any changes in the UI strings until
after the release. After the string freeze date, developers will post to
this list asking permission for a "string freeze break" if they want to add
any new UI strings. These requests are generally accomodated, but it is
important that localizers know about them so they can polish off the late
changes and commit the completed files.
