Rather minor problem: All my old bookmarks are pointing to
http*s*://dev.laptop.org/translate/whatever, whence the redirect leads to
http*s*://dev.laptop.orgwhatever/ with the closing slash at the wrong 
position and

http*s*://dev.laptop.org/translate get's a redirect to 
http*s*://translate.laptop.org which is not the pootle-startpage.
