Fontconfig handles fonts on the XO environment.
/etc/fonts/fonts.conf indicates which folders it will scan to find fonts
and make them available to Sugar.
To make fonts available to a local user:
mkdir ~/.fonts (to create the local fontconfig-aware folder)
cp *.ttf ~/.fonts (to copy the fonts in that folder)
A little while later, the fc-list command will show you a list of all
available fonts.
