Hello,
My name is Evelyn Eastmond and I am a developer of the Scratch software from
MIT Media Lab.
I am in charge of the localization efforts for Scratch, and was interested
in setting up a Pootle server for our translations.
However, I recently noticed that OLPC is using a Pootle server for OLPC and
XO activity localization.
Although we do not host Scratch on dev.laptop.org, I was wondering if it
would be possible to try to add Scratch as a project on the OLPC Pootle
server?
We use the gettext format, and already implemented our own POT export
mechanism, similar to what EToys did.
We already have about 27 semi-complete translations (as .po files), with
plans for full Unicode support in Scratch 1.3.
A very preliminary version of Scratch is out for the XO here:
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activities#Programming
But a more fully supported version is in the works.
Please let me know if you think Scratch is a candidate project for the OLPC
Pootle server, and thanks for your time!
Sincerely,
Evelyn
