Hello, and welcome to the OLPC localization mailing list.
We are working on localizing interface strings for Sugar and core
activities, and localizing the new website. Many of these efforts
are taking place through .po files at the moment...
Here's a note from Sabine Cretella on using OmegaT as part of a
translation toolchain. If you have worked on translations in the past,
please note what tools you have been using, and let people you have
translated or edited with in multiple languages know about this list.

Hi, I just came back home from Pisa. Couldn't we go away from .po? It is just a
pain if you need to work on them with OmegaT since you first have to convert
them to monolingual .po files and then in the end re-convert them into
bilingual ones. We need to create TMX files here to be able to have easy and
fast updates.
I already asked for it time ago: I would like to see the files that need
translation BEFORE they are converted to .po files. It could make sense to
create an OmegaT filter for them once and that's it. Or we need a filter that
lets us work directly on .po files.
Sorry, have to go now. I will be here and have more time tomorrow - at least I
hope so.
Could somebody please forward to marco at redhat.org? for me this e-mail does not
seem to work. Thanks!!!!
Ciao, Sabine
