<div><br></div><div>With regard to the current status quo a quick check reveals that 28 chapters have been marked [R]eady for review, 17 are in a [D]raft status, 11 are still [E]mpty, and 0 are [F]inal.</div><div><br></div>
<div>As such I see several different things which we'll need to work on in order to move towards having high-quality and up-to-date documentation again:</div><div><br></div><div>* Writing: If you have committed to and/or started working on a chapter please try to finish it until the end of the month. If you're unable to set aside any time to work on something that you have committed to or started then please update the information on <a href="http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Help_Activity_refresh/TOC" target="_blank">http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Help_Activity_refresh/TOC</a> accordingly and let us know so we can find others to tackle it.</div>
<div>* Reviewing: With 50% of the chapters having been marked as [R]eady for review it would be great if we could find a small team of 3~4 people to go review all of them. I quickly glanced through some of these chapters and while some are already quite polished others will likely require rework and/or additional information in order to be moved to the [F]inal stage. Let us know if you're willing to work on this important task!</div>
<div>* Packaging: Gonzalo (in CC) got in touch yesterday to see whether we're ready to move the documentation into an updated version of the Help Activity. As mentioned above we're not quite there yet but I really hope that we can finish up everything over the next 2 weeks or thereabouts. I also need to follow up with SJ and Bernie to see what the status of the PDF and .zim (offline wiki) export capabilities on <a href="http://wiki.laptop.org" target="_blank">wiki.laptop.org</a> and <a href="http://wiki.sugarlabs.org" target="_blank">wiki.sugarlabs.org</a> are. Last but not least I'll talk to Craig to see whether OLPC Jamaica will have the resources to work on a polished and print-ready version of the documentation.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Also, Dominik from OLPC Poland got in touch with me earlier this week and the folks there want to translate some parts of their manual into Polish for one of their projects. Additionally I spoke to Nkubito (one of OLPC Rwanda's lead guys) and they might also be interested in using this manual once they upgrade their ~100,000 XOs to the latest software version. Hopefully these bits of information will provide some additional motivation for all of us here to sit down and wrap up this documentation project.</div>
<div><br></div><div>So, let's get this done! :-)</div><div><br></div><div>FWIW I'll be online (#olpc-help on IRC, Skype, GTalk) for the next hour or so to start working on some of these tasks...</div><div><br></div>
