Hi all -
Thought I'd send an update on the documentation for XO and Sugar. I really
appreciate the work of people coming in with edits and content clarity
checks. Nice work, all.

If you've seen me in there doing edits but don't see any text changes, it's
because I'm working on HTML code that'll look nice both online and in the
pretty PDF version. For some reason (not entirely sure why), using <ul> with
<li> followed by <br /> with <img src> tags caused multiple numbers in front
of every <br / > tag in the PDF output. So a four-list item list with four
graphics was numbered quite oddly! I think the solution is to use <dl> lists
any time that you need images in a numbered list, and you have to manually
insert the numbers for the list items. See the Give me the Internet Please
chapter if you want an example of the <dl> coding.

I have one known graphic change in the UI that I need a screenshot for -
it's the "halo" surrounding the access point that's connected. The graphics
where this is apparent are in this chapter:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/bin/view/XO/GiveMeTheInternet - there are two
instances.
I'm updating to candidate-767 and I'll try to get graphics in but someone
else could certainly beat me to it I'm sure. :) If you know of other UI
updates that may have occured in the last 5 weeks, please check the manuals
to see if a new graphic needs inserted.

I'd also like some review and procedure checking on the chapter about
updating your Sugar version to the latest - especially keeping in mind the
people from the first G1G1 release who want to update to 8.2 (because it's
awesome!). A specific walkthrough of the scenario of going from 656 to 8.2
as a new H2 in this chapter would be ideal (keeping the
kids/parents/teachers audience in mind). I'll draft that section after I get
done with graphics updates, so again, feel free to beat me to it.

For the upcoming G1G1 release we'll be offering a remixed manual on Amazon
that contains chapters from the XO and Sugar books - very similar to what's
included in the Help Activity. Any edits we make this week will be in that
remixed manual.

Thanks, all for your work. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Anne
