I am interested in interning at the OLPC Academy this summer, specifically the field assessment or monitoring programs. I just checked the OLPC Academy website and there doesn't seem to be any information for a 2012 program. Is this internship program still active or is there another way I can apply? For a few years now I have been going to Nicaragua during the summers to volunteer at Fabretto Nica Hope schools. Nica Hope has many school throughout Nicaragua and I continuously noticed that they lack in materials and technology. There is only so much Nica Hope can do and most of the materials come from generous donators. The children have a thirst for knowledge but the lack of materials has becomes a barrier. My question is if OLPC has any offices in Nicaragua? I know I am too young to be part of the internship but I would love to find a way to help expand OLPC so that the Nica Hope kids can also get the opportunity of receiving these laptops. Is there anything I can do on my part to make this happen? Maybe fund-raise some money so Nica Hope schools can get laptops. I have a experience in fundraising for The American Cancer Society and I am currently president of the Business Department in my high school. Therefore, I would like to apply these skills and help OLPC in any way possible. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Adriana Gurdian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
