[OLPC India] Negroponte on $35 laptop in The Times of India Kolkata Edition

Professor Negroponte's open letter to the Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal was reported by The Times of India, Kolkata edition.

Unfortunately, Kolkata is as far from Delhi as Seattle from DC, or almost as far.

And the regional press seldom makes it to the dsk of a Union Minister, save when its their own parliamentary constituency or the issue so large that the Minister can not afford to ignore.

Had the same tone been carried as an editorial page article, it may have had some impact.

It should be webcast as wide as OLPC can and may be it will be heard by them.

Of course it will be much easier if OLPC helps OLPC India duplicate the Rajasthan event in all states. Just half a million bucks can open up a possibility to reach a 100 million children. Please read on:
