July 23rd was the first day in India when a Chief Minister of a State and two Union Cabinet Ministers came to inaugurate OLPC in India.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan inaugurated OLPC deployment at a school at Keekerwali, Shriganganagar District in Rajasthan. The laptops were donated by Satish Jha of OLPC India.

He was accompanied with the Govt of India's Rural Development Minister C P Joshi and Social Justice Minister Mukul Wasnik, bothe full Cabinet Ministers of Union of India.

It was also the day when Union Education Minister (known as HRD Minister) Kapil Sibal showcased his aspiration to have a $35 laptop by next year. He is known for inaugurating Mobilis when he was the Minister for Science & Technology, a project that promised to supply 150,000 laptops to Brazil and had to be abandoned as finally Brazil had to look for a more relaible option.
