Marc,

This is not an indiatimes article.
It's borrowed from somewhere else, I am not sure why they forgot to acknowledge that.

http://www.redorbit.com/news/technology/1232734/lowcost_laptops_for_children_in_developing_countries_buggy_slow/index.html

So, relax , It has nothing to do with India being IT paradise or having highest leprosy percentage.

Tks
Saswat

This article is not serious...
This kind of laptop is not for children of 15 ! This is much too old. Ok, right, the girl is 10 but...
Their target audience are children of developing countries. Not the daughter of a 'rich and educated' journalist or the son of a 'rich and educated' American.

To do a serious article, they had to go in a village and give the computer to a child having both parents uneducated. But that is maybe too difficult ? It certainly is for Indian journalists... But that is not all, they also don't want to show the reality of the country, India is not an IT paradise. Accepting the true reality is the first step for development but many educated Indians are not ready for that.

Do you know India has the world higher percentage of leprosy ?
