I have a master degree in biomedical engineer (health care technologies) obtained at the University of Twente, Holland. Nowadays I work as volunteer for Movimiento Foundation in Uruguay. Apart from that I work as researcher for Saxion University (Holland) doing research on activity monitoring and user centered design methods (beyond OLPC). </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1F497D">I would like you to share the article I wrote for <a href="http://www.olpcnews.com/countries/uruguay/saludame_-_interactive_learnin.html" target="_blank">OLPC news</a>. And our work on the project called Saludame, about which we recently blog in English on our <a href="http://www.movimientofoundation.com/" target="_blank">website</a>.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:11.0pt;color:#1F497D">Briefly, in project Saludame we work in a multidisciplinary team on developing a health education program for rural schools in Uruguay, using an educational game for the XO supported with didactical guides for the teachers. In April 2011 we start our pilot, after 8 months of development (start in June 2010).</span></p>

With more attention driven to OLPC after my trip to Canada's North and another student's Masters thesis on OLPC in Ghana, my facilitator would like me to write a proposal to my assistant dean to spend the necessary $25 000 to purchase 100 laptops for next year's cohort. Because that is quite a sum, I would love any help I can get in providing a convincing argument on the importance of getting the XOs in global health and development. The health component and how the XO can be used for health practices (such as education, or even for diagnostic and/or electronic medical records) is an extremely vital one, especially since we are a health science discipline. </span></span><span style="font-size:10.5pt;color:black"></span></p>
