warm THANK YOU for your great work organizing the HealthJam. I wish I
could have attended, but I ran out of $$$.

Wish you could have made it! I can only speak for myself here, but it was a very different experience than what I expected, but I learned a lot from being there, and had a wonderful time (and the people there blew my mind).
several countries expressed interest in opening a dialogue. I have a
mission to address inclusive education for children with disabilities in
the OLPC program (I have 25+ years in the disability and health IT
fields).

I would love to talk with you about this. My summer development work will be focused around using the XO as an inclusive tool for kids with disabilities. (I have 16 years' experience as a kid with disabilities, and a few more years as an adult engineer learning about how to build tools for the kid I used to be.)
BTW. Did anyone attend the recent American Telemedicine Association
(ATA) conference held in Seattle?

Not from the Jam - although if others from this list were around, I'd love to hear their thoughts and I'm sure others here would as well.

There are some presentation materials here - http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Presentations#Slides.2C_posters_and_materials - but if you need something in simplified Chinese, I might be able to pull something together after next week (if sometime in the first week of May would be soon enough). It would be a good excuse for me to acquire a better technical vocabulary in Mandarin.

Thanks for all your thoughts - they're incredibly helpful. I think we're still trying to get solid ground underneath the feet of the OLPC Health initiative, but boy are we running.

-Mel

PS: Jammers - sorry I've been out of touch over the last few days. Internet at the place where I'm staying is down, so it looks like I'll have to wait to get to Bellingham this coming weekend to get stable internet for long periods of time and catch up (I'm looking forward to being in Boston and have a few precious weeks where I don't have to hunt for connectivity in new spaces all the time!)
