Welcome, Jason! You and Omar Bazavilvazo should talk about your related flashcard ideas... there is a lot of synergy there. As for mail clients, I'd like to see a project idea that reflects on the design decisions made by existing clients (including the tinymail client being slowly ported to the XO) and describes a sufficiently simple place to start.

SJ

ps - As for MeMaker, you should get some of the XO users who have learned to
hack their machines to replace the core "XO" to use it. I think a
small tweak to it would produce two-color xo-friendly svg's, which show
up as your own background and also on the mesh...

On Sun, Apr 6, 2008 at 12:14 AM, Jason (spot) Brower <encompass@gmail.com> wrote:

Howdy all,
I figure if I jump into the list so late I had introduce myself. My
name is Jason Brower I am a student applying for GSoC this year. I am,
apperently, one of many proposing a flashcard idea and the email
client.
I currently have only one pet project. MeMaker, it's just been
excepted into Hardy and the team is pretty excited. Would you like to
see it?
Just run python memaker.py
and a video of the program in action here...
http://download.memaker.org/memakerVidB1Sandman.ogg
This program has been tested, and it even works in the OLPC.
It's a fun project.
Anyway, hope to get in the loop here with what happening are going on.
Regards,
Jason Brower
