Hi,

Thanks for your valuable advice. Particularly age group targetting, mesh networking and legal advice.
I have therefore named my game wordsmith, and made appropriate changes to the wiki page.

I have updated the wiki page accordingly and submitted a proposal at GSoC page.
Hi Aditya,

I like the project idea a lot and think that scrabble is a great and
popular game, and a good way to learn, especially with the spectating /
multiplayer mode. Also very interesting that you mentioned the paper for
an fast algorithm -- although that should be fairly easy with a little
dictionary even :)

I think a focus on mesh network implementation (which is technically
very easy and you'll find a lot of support) would really pay off.
Multiplayer is *the* killer feature with this.

Maybe I'd split the different parts/ideas of the project in the wiki
page into optional and mandatory.

I certainly would like to see this project as a proposal at the soc
page. Keep it short and focus on what it will do :) Everyone knows
scrabble, so it will be good to think on specific ideas what features
would aim at olpc's target users (aged 6 - 14).

It is very important to think about legal and copyright issues. I
remember to read that http://www.scrabulous.com/ had a really big
success with their scrabble, but were involved in certain legal issues,
"since it very closely resembles Scrabble, exactly copying the board
layout, number of tiles and rules, and having a very similar name."

So I'd propose, choose a name not anyhow related to scrabble (they think
scrabulous is already too close :/), and different numbers and a
somewhat modified rating system.

Best,
- Chris
