</div>H.264 is at the top of MPEG-LA's list of codecs that require patent<br>
licensing. All the MPEG codecs are on the list, including MP3 and AAC.<br>

If you don't want to buy a license, Theora and Vorbis (the Ogg codecs) are<br>
basically the only game in town.<br>
