CSpace</a> (<a href="http://cspace.in/trac/wiki/CSpacePlatform">project page</a>) is an python based, open-source, secure, decentralized communications platform that supports chat, file transfer, and remote desktop, and overall seems incredibly similar to the "wishlist" of what has been discussed for a decentralized chat network.
