At the time it completely failed on XO-1 with IO errors in the logs. I
doubt it was a hard bug, we just took the shortcut of removing it.

It definitely needs reevaluating now - we should follow the direction
that Fedora and other distros have taken, and this is certainly it.
However, I suspect getting all of our use cases (TamTam, measure,
speak, record, ...) all working smoothly on 3 laptop models will be a
fair amount of work.
