Installing powerd on earlier F11 builds

Sridhar - from a support PoV, you need to ensure powerd, kernel and
OFW are all aligned. This may be more cumbersome than an update.

If you can run scripts from usb as you've mentioned, you could

 - create a new build with olpc-os-builder
 - place the .toc and the .usb file in the USB stick
 - place a script that autoruns
    olpc-update -u

This will install only the new/changed files without affecting user data.
