A fast fs-update variant of os18 is available for XO-1.5 only. This
takes seven minutes rather than fourteen minutes on a typical laptop.

(772MB)

To avoid a harmless warning message, upgrade firmware to Q3A65 or later
before fs-update. The harmless message does not prevent the laptop from
booting. It reads:

WARNING: The file specified 29489 chunks but wrote only 1 chunks

To avoid downloading os18 again, if you have os18.zd4 file already, and
you have rdiff installed, you can apply a binary patch to generate the
sparse version:

rdiff signature os18.zd4 os18.zd4.rdiff-signature
wget http://dev.laptop.org/~quozl/fs-update-skip-unused-blocks/os18-sparse.zd4.rdiff-delta # 935K
rdiff patch os18.zd4 os18-sparse.zd4.rdiff-delta os18-sparse.zd4

The binary patch removes blocks that do not need to be written to the
microSD card.
