Tar up ~/.sugar/default/datastore. Tar handles hard links nicely.
If you have an existing data store on the target machine, either remove ~/.sugar/default/datastore (if you don't care about the contents) or remove ~/.sugar/default/datastore/index{_updated,/*} to force an index rebuild.
