Odd via_camera behaviour

XO-1.5 SKU#99 unit with odd camera behaviour as described below. Have
we seen anything like this before?

Tested with OS 10.1.2 - vanilla.

 - Works under OFW - test /camera

 - Sugar - Record shows black 'video' window, but does not report any
errors to the user or in the logs. dmesg shows only

   viafb-camera: Release: 0 hard, 0 thread, 0 frames
   viafb-camera: No frame 0, no buf 0 overruns 0

   (compared to a normal machine, where after initial 0 values, we get
more messages positive ints instead. And  Funky IRQ msgs)

 - Gnome - Cheese - shows color bars - dmesg again only shows 0 values
