Without too much drama, yes, ideally the kernel-libc stack can just
DTRT*. They probably do by now, or the powertop-toting crowd would
have set the house on fire already.

* - This "right thing" is probably not so trivial to define -- perhaps
it's ok to set a timer to wakeup from S1 but not from S3/S4.
