Speech to Text Support in OLPC

Having worked for several years for a company that was doing speech 
recognition, I'll be very interested to see how well it works on XO.  I 
must admit that I'll be rather surprised if it works well enough to be 
"usable" except under very limited conditions and low expectations.  
Isolated-word or short-phrase-in-limited-context recognition can work 
well, but requires a lot of processing power and memory.  Training to a 
particular speaker can help, but that is not an easy task either, and 
requires additional memory.  Connected-speech recognition is extremely 
difficult.
