I've often wondered why we (royal we) don't have a scheduled meeting
where the communication is specifically attempted using Sugar only
available tools (XO HW, emulation or jhbuild on whatever platforms are
currently viable). With the main action being based in Chat, with a
shared Write session for meeting minutes; Xo IRC works well for me
(most reliable and open form of live collaboration on the XO so far)
and could be the fallback when other things implode. It's all about
developers being prepared to eat their own... so to speak, and it
would send out the right signals about the expected quality and
robustness of solutions.

I was pretty disappointed to see gobby seemingly adopted (not anything
is wrong with gobby), it just clearly shouts, "we don't trust our own
software to be reliable enough to use for a 1hr meeting".

It might actually help making 'itches to scratch'.
