I strongly favor this approach.  Regardless of compression method, JFFS2
was not designed for 1 GB flash.  In fact, JFFS2 was chosen when the XO's
disk was only 512 MB.  With the coming "red XO" upgrade to larger flash
sizes, we will need to replace JFFS2.  Reimplementing every filesystem in
OFW is infeasible, especially while we are testing a variety of new
filesystems.

Even if we remain with JFFS2, partitioning promises to reduce our boot
time substantially on the current hardware.  The support is largely in
place.  Someone just needs to make it happen.
