Compose key on the XO

Hello all,
While trying to make the Amharic keyboard[1] work on the XO, I have
been trying to figure out which key is set as the Compose key
(Multi_key) in the XO keyboard. Can anyone shed any light on this ? I
can see that there is a Compose table for Amharic at
/usr/share/X11/locale/am_ET.UTF-8/Compose, and it seems to have the
right data, but I can't figure out how to enable it.
