In the meantime, you can patch 406.15 pretty simply:

wget http://dev.laptop.org/pub/firmware/libertas/ 
usb8388-5.110.20.p42.bin
mv usb8388-5.110.20.p42.bin  /lib/firmware/usb8388.bin
