Get started by reading the Wiki, joining the mailing list, and
participating in the IRC channels.
Architecture details are in the Wiki, and in the source code.
Most activities are developed in Python. Yes, other languages are
useful. C makes up the remainder of the functionality, as well as Forth
for the firmware. Provided you create the appropriate environment,
other languages would be possible.
Kernel level programming ... first become familiar with kernel
development, then kernel building and testing. It is very similar to
the process used in Fedora.
