Strange 703 activitie startup problem "permission denied"

I have updated a B4 machine to 703 (using olpc-update) and added the
G1G1 activity pack. Now, activities fail to start, except for Terminal
and Log Viewer.

Attached you'll find a representative log from TurtleArt, which ends in

   exception.OSError Premission Denied

Any hints? It's not a major problem, but I'd like to diagnose it to
ensure it's not a 703 problem.
