A related question: which activities are shipping on the laptop? Can I
get a canonical list from somewhere, preferably with source code
checkouts?

It's come to my attention that some activities are using rather bizarre APIs
over Tubes; it doesn't matter a great deal how good Tubes are if everyone
uses them wrong, so I'm hoping to be able to devote some time to
cleaning up the Tubes code in at least the "exemplary" Activities.

I was surprised to discover that Calculate is shipped in the builds but not
in jhbuild, for instance (I've now filed a bug regarding its use of the
sharedstate module, which Morgan and I consider to be poorly
implemented - it uses Python's pickle module with untrusted input, which
is unsafe).

It would be ideal if jhbuild always contained at least the same packages as
a build, and possibly more, at least for "small" things like activities
(obviously, I'd make an exception for the Library!).
