Is it in any way likely that memory errors could lead an x86 system to reboot ? In the past, I have worked with systems where this was possible (it trapped unimplemented instructions to implement OS calls, one of which was reboot). I can't think of an equivalent situation with the laptop (i.e. a modern kernel), even if it is the kernel itself faulting, can you ? wad
