The actual command that worked for me was: ship.2-643
Maybe this was a typo of bert - just to note. Another thing is that in 
our terminal activity you have to type /usr/sbin/olpc-update -  would be 
nice if the path set would allow to type olpc-update only.

The update did work for me from joyride 344.
